Visual science is a typical interdisiplinary field of research. It spans activities in psychophysics and electrophysical mesurements as well as clinical examination, theoretical model calculations and environmental physics.

This course deals with the optical, electrophysiological, and psychophysical foundations of vision. Key words are visual perception, the optics of the eye, the physiology of the retina, photoreceptors, sensitivity, photometry, contrast vision, colour and colour vision, colorimetry, brain functions, and neural correlates to perception.

 

The course, which includes laboratory tutorials, gives 9 credits.
